Spinal Decompression Technique

Back Pain is a terrible thing. It affects every aspect of everyday life, and treatment options vary. Steroid shots, addictive narcotic pain medication, physical therapy, and even spinal surgery sometimes can't fix the underlying problem. So if you suffer from chroic back pain and have been through the traditional treatment options with little to no result, Spinal Decompression may be right for you - even if you've already had surgery. Dr. Adamac offers a wide variety of decompression techniques to meet your unique treatment needs.

The Spinal Decompression Technique is a non-surgical spinal manipulation designed to treat a wide range of spinal related conditions including: Disc Herniation (slipped and/or ruptured), Spinal Stenosis, Degenerative Disc Disease, Scoliosis, Osteoporosis, as well as post surgical and pregnancy-related back pain.

One of the most studied chiropractic techniques, Spinal Flexion Distraction and decompression aims to reduce pressure on the spinal nerves, drop intradiscal pressure, restore motion to spinal joints, and widen the spinal canals. Unlike spinal surgery, the proceedure is non-invasive, non-painful, and completely safe - even if you've already had back surgery!

Nearly 40 years of research, experience, and technology have contributed to the development and evolution of the Spinal Decompression Technique. Chiropractor, engineers, and researchers continue to document its benefits, and the evidence has shown the Spinal Decompression Technique to be an effective treatment alternative to surgery as well as beneficial treatment option for patients who've already had surgery.

How Spinal Decompression Is Done

The procedure is performed with the patient lying on a Spinal Table - a specially designed chiropractic table - that permits effective administration of flexion-distraction and decompression adjustment and manipulation. During a treatment on this instrument the patient lies prone while the treating physician concentrates on one vertebral motion segment at a time. The goal is to reduce stenotic effects by dropping intradiscal pressure to allow disc reduction, increasing the size of the intervertebral foramen, and lowering pressure on the dorsal root ganglion and the exiting nerve roots. While concentration on the low back, the doctor may use the instrument's caudal section to allow lateral and circular motion which returns normal motion to the spine with reduced pain. The cervical spine can be treated similarly using a specially designed head piece. Dr Adamec utilizes the Seventh Generation Spinal Table which incorporates all of these adaptations as well as the prized long y-axis decompression mechanism.

So if you suffer from chronic back pain and other treatment options just haven't worked including spinal surgery, call Dr. Adamec at 518-357-2225 to find out if Spinal Decompression is the right treatment option for you.
